Coming this December, gamers will be able to explore the Ages of Uru in droves, allowing a whole new dynamic of puzzle solving gameplay that has yet to be implemented in anything but a MUD or PUD. Microsoft has been scooping up some of the most promising international talent in game development, and Real Time Worlds is no exception. Headed by David Jones, former head of the (in)famous DMA Studios, who created the Grand Theft Auto series, Real Time Worlds has produced a second-gen Xbox 360 title that exemplifies where next-gen gaming can go. Sony Online Entertainment announced today that they would offer the new Sony Station Access program. For a single monthly subscription of $21.99 gamers can access several popular MMOs including Everquest, The Matrix Online, Star Wars Galaxies, and Planetside. In all, over 10 titles in five active online worlds are included in the Station Access membership, and some titles, such as Everquest II, have been upgraded to allow more character slots. The Station Access Collection will be sold at retail for $39.99 and will offer five games for PC and a free 30-day trial of the Station Access subscription. Read more here.

From the \"Worlds Collide\" newsbin, it looks like Capcom and Ubisoft are cozying up for some cross-platform releases. Ubisoft has just announced a deal with Capcom to release Resident Evil 4, Onimusha 3: Demon Siege, and Devil May Cry 3: Dante\'s Awakening Special Edition for the PC. To put it in marketing language (from all companies, not just MS), we\'ve moved beyond the era of \"GTA Clones\" and into the era of the \"action-driving\" genre. However you want to classify it, Crackdown looks like it will bring something good to the Xbox 360. It helps that Microsoft has tapped Real Time Worlds, which is headed by David Jones, and whose key members created the original Grand Theft Auto as well as Lemmings. Cyan Worlds, makers of Myst, laid off their entire development crew earlier this month and shut their doors for what the gaming industry assumed was forever. Turns out that\'s not the case. Ryan Miller, co-founder of Cyan Worlds, has confirmed to GamesFirst that the company has rehired some portion of their development team. \"Yes, we have rehired most everyone,\" he said. \"At this point, I can\'t really say more.\" Earlier, MercuryNews.com received similar confirmation from Cyan Worlds. Is it possible the game industry has not really lost one of its original pioneers? Sounds like it.

Tringo is a combination of Tetris and Bingo. Yeah, that\'s weird enough. But the story of its creation is even more unusual: Kermitt Quirk, a player in Second Life, created Tringo in-game and sells it to other Second Lifers. While some of us can\'t wait to get our hands on the official release of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, others can\'t wait to get their hands on the map and quest maker. The PC version of the title will ship with a level editor that allows fans of the series to create their own stories and levels independent of the original storyline, just as Elder Scrolls III did. Bethesda and 2K Games have released screenshots of the upcoming editor, and the shots should be of interest to gamers with a creative streak and a desire to make worlds instead of just play in them.

Say farewell to one of the landmarks in video game history. Cyan Worlds, the creators of Myst, have closed their doors. The company was made famous when it used incredible pre-rendered graphics, moody audio, and brilliant puzzles to create a huge following in the game industry. The original Myst served as a crossover title that brought thousands of causal players into the more complex and beautiful world of the hardcore. Until The Sims took the crown, Myst was considered the best selling game of all time. Cyan Worlds was also one of the few companies dedicated to adventure games anymore, and we\'re sad to see them go. Best of luck, guys.

Galaxies Ablaze is a unique indy game that focuses on deep strategic and tactical gameplay. Hardcore sci-fi grognards and serious RTS fans should check this one out, and it's free, so it's easy to do that. But with the focus placed on gameplay and a serious lack of graphical game feedback, this is not one for the casual fan or anyone looking for pretty pictures.
